Mr González is super passionate about supporting his students socio-emotional growth, and teaches them to reflect and communicate their feelings daily. He goes above and beyond for his parents and posts a little snippet of the day in ParentSquare with photos and videos so they can see their students in action.
When did you know you wanted to be an educator?
The first day I started teaching.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
A college teacher. He was different. He knew how to connect with the students and had a different approach to teaching.
What makes Empower a special place to teach, learn and grow?
As a teacher I feel I have the freedom to do what I think is best for my students. Teachers have a voice.
How does Empower’s mission and vision align with your personal values?
Bilingualism, other cultures feel welcome, and the importance of body/mind combination.
What do you love most about your role?
I love being able to spend everyday with my students and have a positive impact on their lives. We provide a safe and fun environment, a sense of belonging, and community between students.
What else would you like us to know about YOU?
On January 22nd, I will see my mom after 618 days 🙂 Finally she can come visit 🙂
