How We Rate & What They Say

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Empower has been a great environment for my son. I was able to roll my Kinder aged son in TK, which helped him grow so much. He also has picked up a lot of Spanish in his first year. The student body is a wonderful mix and are taught Social and Emotional skills to resolve conflicts with others and academic content. The staff is knowledgeable, prompt and extremely caring. I like how every classroom has a teacher and a full time aide. The school also encourages healthy eating and the kids attend gardening and CrossFit classes. Parents are given the option to have the dentist see their child at school (one less thing for me to do!), as well as, the opportunity to attend their after school program via the YMCA for free. My son has gone on two field trips and I have been invited in to the classroom to participate many times. Great school!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great school! The staff is very involved with the kids. The weekly activities keep the children excited and learning beyond the classroom. The before/after school programs are a huge help for working parents.

Bryan

My daughter is in her second year at Empower and loving it. The school is very community based and they have a great staff. My daughter feels supported at school and has been excelling at learning Spanish. She loves Coach Rob and the CrossFit program and doing gardening at school.

How can I get involved?

We need volunteers! Please email admin@empowercharter.org if you are interested in volunteering.

My child is enrolled in the Spanish Immersion program, will the teacher communicate with me in English if needed?”

Yes! Most parent/teacher conferences don’t involve the child, and the teacher will communicate in English. The teacher will try to limit conversations in English held in front of the child.

Are Empower teachers credentialed?

Yes! All of our teachers are highly-qualified and hold teacher credentials.

Will you serve my child with special needs?

Yes, we are a public school! We will work with you to provide the support your child needs to receive an education.

How much does it cost to attend Empower?

Empower is a public school! There is no cost to attend our school.

Are you hiring?

We accept resumes on an ongoing basis. View our job postings on EdJoin.

How does the Spanish Immersion program work?

When students start with us in TK and kindergarten, 80% of their day is in Spanish with 20% English. Each year after that, students receive 10% more English and 10% less Spanish with third through sixth grade splitting their days evenly between English and Spanish instruction.

How can I support my child if he/she receives homework in Spanish?

Regardless of the language homework is assigned in, the purpose of homework is to give students a chance to practice independently. If you are finding that your child is having difficulty with homework, please let their teacher know so that it can be modified/adapted at a level that your child can be successful. Empower will also offer parents resources to help with homework, including the option for your child to attend an after-school program.
